How I work
[ Style & Identity ]I work exclusively with black ink and negative space.Rather than pursuing photographic realism or highly descriptive imagery, I focus on organic textures, primitive forms, dynamic line work, and the relationship between black ink and skin. These elements create the distinctive textures and contrasts that define my work.My goal is not simply to create an image that explains something, but to create a design that can be felt.[ Original Artwork ]1. Original Concept SketchesYou may choose from my available original concept sketches.Please send me the sketch you are interested in, along with clear photos of the intended placement with markings at 5 cm intervals on your skin. I use these to assess the actual size and create a mock-up on your photo, so I can recommend suitable proportions and placement.The mock-up is used to assess how the concept fits your body.2. New IdeasI occasionally create new concept artwork based on ideas brought to me by clients.You may share the subject, placement, approximate size, and overall mood. I then use these as the starting point to develop original artwork in my own visual language.3. Revisiting Previous WorkI aim for each piece to have its own identity. If you are particularly drawn to one of my previous pieces, I am open to revisiting the idea.In these cases, I reinterpret the details, textures, and composition to create a distinct piece.[ Custom Projects ]I do not work through a client-directed design process.This includes requests to specify visual details or provide particular sketches, reference images, or layout instructions for me to follow. I also do not offer a collaborative process involving repeated design revisions.I have found that these approaches make it difficult to maintain the quality and distinctive visual language of my work. For this reason, I work exclusively with my own original artwork.[ Pricing & Bookings ]* Minimum: from £800

* Full-back piece: £6,000–£13,000+Pricing varies depending on the overall size, density and complexity of the design, as well as the difficulty of the placement. Each project is quoted individually.[ Deposit ]A non-refundable deposit equal to one-third (1/3) of the total quoted amount is required to secure a booking.The deposit is included in the total price and deducted from the final balance.[ Rescheduling ]Appointments may be rescheduled free of charge up to 30 days before the appointment date.Rescheduling requests made within 30 days of the appointment may be subject to an additional rescheduling fee.[ A Personal Note ]Over the past 20 years of tattooing, I have sometimes worked to accommodate clients’ requests as closely as possible, and at other times worked from my own original designs.I understand that conventional custom tattooing often involves revising and adjusting a design according to the client’s requests. I also understand that, because a tattoo becomes part of your body, you may want to make changes to the design or have a say in how it looks.In work centred on realistic representation, incorporating a client’s preferences and rendering the subject with greater richness and realism can be enough to create an excellent tattoo. In contrast, my work is centred on design, where decisions about what to omit or exaggerate, how to vary the weight and flow of lines, and how to balance black ink with open skin become far more important. These choices are interconnected and determine the overall impression of the piece.When adjusting a design to accommodate individual requests, I have sometimes found it difficult to preserve those relationships and that balance. My intentions and visual language become less clearly expressed, and I have experienced how this can weaken the overall quality of the finished piece.For this reason, I have chosen to focus on the way I work best: observing and feeling the world in my own way, then expressing it through my own visual language.
